UD 15th Anniversary Palette: Swatches!
Hot Off the Press You Guys…….
I hold in my hands the newly launched Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette in all of its GLORY. When I found out that the palette would be launched on July 12th, 2011 I literally set my alarm to wake me up at 3am which was 12am Pacific time. It was my hope that it would launch on Urban Decay’s site at the stroke of Midnight. However, it sadly did not. So I reset my alarm to wake me up at 6:30am and when I logged on, Viola, it was there! I immediately purchased two, one for me, and one for you…..(Hint: Stay Tuned for your chance to win this Palette). I know what you guys are thinking, “that girl is nuts to wake up that early for some make up”, but after watching the world go through withdraws when the Naked Palette originally launched, I just couldn’t risk it! I just knew that the anniversary palette would sell out quickly. Boy, was I right, I purchased mine at 6:30am EST, and they were sold out by 2:00pm EST the same day!
I was so elated with the Urban Decay Box Came yesterday that I could not do anything but start swatching for you guys! When I opened the box it was encased in a sumptuous royal purple velvet case. The palette itself is made of a gorgeous mirrored gunmetal, with filigree cutouts on the sides. The interior of the palette has a enormous mirror as well as 15 brand new eye shadow shades by Urban Decay. It boats fantastic highlight colors, velvety neutrals, deep smokey shades, and bold brights! This palette is brilliant, honestly it is the best palette that I have seen in quite some time by any brand! You can sport so many varying looks with this one palette, and in that spirit I am going to put it to the test. Starting August 1st, I am going to use the 15th Anniversary Palette soley for one month, so stay tuned in for the looks that I am able to create with it.
The palette retails for $55.00 USD, and does NOT come with a UD Primer Potion, nor does it come with a brush. However, once the palette is used up you can remove the tray where the shadows are housed, and it becomes an elegant keepsake box. Perfect for storing jewelry or small trinkets.
So without further ado let’s get to the fun stuff. Below is a list of all 15 shades and their descriptions taken directly from UrbanDecay.com! In addition I have included swatches of each shade below. FYI, I used Mac Bare Study as my base under the swatches.
