pH MatchMaker Blush in “Natural”

{Swatches Below This Review}

I have been stalking two different ULTA locations for weeks in search of the Physicians Formula pH Matchmaker Blushes & Lip Glosses that they have been advertising, with no luck.  Fast forward to this evening, I was in CVS and shockingly spotted the pH Matchmaker line.  My heart skipped a beat! Clearly the musings of a beauty blogger, but I digress.  I immediately purchased the blush in “Natural” and the lip-gloss in “Light Pink” and raced home to swatch and play!

The Formula

To quote Physicians Formula, they claim that this blush will adapt to your pH level and the lighting environment transforming into the perfect shade for you so your blush never looks over done again”  After swatching and testing this blush is most impressive.  It is well pigmented, and has an ever so slight pearlescent finish that leaves your skin glowing and natural. There is an icy hued overspray in a dot pattern outlining the blush, although once swatched it disappears completely.  The “Natural” shade is a perfect “peachy-pink”, notably similar to that of the Nars Orgasm blush.  This blush would show best on fair to medium skin in my opinion.

Packaging

The square black compact is sleek, sexy and functional.  As most Physicians Formula blushes are, the compact is a bit “chunky” so it will take up some real-estate in your makeup bag.  Included in the compact is the standard mirror and hidden brush compartment.  Although admittedly the highlight of the packaging for me is the LED light that is built in to the compact itself.   Boy, is that light bright!  No more having to use the awful lighted mirror in my husband’s car when we are out on a date!

Overall Thoughts

This blush is a must have for any beauty lover’s collection as it is versatile, well pigmented, and functional. If you have olive to dark skin the “Rose” shade may be a better option for you.

    I think this one I will be looking into! I’ve been really wanting a Tarte blush but it hasn’t happened yet. So I may try this.

      I think you will really enjoy this blush Peg! I am a blush fanatic, so I am also a huge fan of the Tarte Amazonian Clays as well.

    I spotted this in CVS yesterday while waiting to pick up some scripts, and the first thought that popped into my head as I perused the display was, “GIMMICK!” But after reading your review, I’m really excited to give this a shot. I love blush, but I’m forever paranoid of accidentally wearing too much, so this sounds like the perfect product for me.
